I've started doing the incline now and then so I thought I'd post my times and ask a couple of questions.
Did 35.00, more or less, the first time. This is from the Barr parking lot to a blue dot on a rock at the top.

2nd time a month later was a 34:42 on the same course, followed by a 37:43 from the lower section of the climb.
Not bad for 63, eh?

I'm wondering where the "official" timed course starts and stops. On the 2nd, complete, climb I started from the point at which the wooden fence at the bottom makes a T with the incline and ended at the blue dot which is a little above the last of the cross ties. Or do people start from the gate at the west end of the paved area?

Just curious. I'm really just racing me.

Thanks,
Jim

p.s. anyway to get rid of hijk094's spam?

spammer has been banned and deleted.

for my times i either measure from the barr trail parking lot or from the fence at the very bottom, depending on where i get to park.

A little under 42 minutes last friday starting at the very bottom, from car to car coming down the Barr and parked by the theatre was about 80 minutes. Not bad since I haven't done it since last summer. I've been jogging to stay in shape, but the Incline works muscles that don't get used when you're jogging. It took a couple of days for the soreness to go away.

My best time is 42:10. I've only done it 5 times so far. :) I'm shooting for about 35 minutes with about 6 more weeks of climbing 2 - 3 days a week.

My fiance Chris PRed today - 21:50!!!!! He's turning 47 this July 18. He amazes and inspires me! :D

Best time of the season for me this morning 34:38. There was quite a bit of washout today due to the heavy rains recently.

So is there such a thing as a heat index for your time up the incline. So if on a 70 degree day I can do it in 40 minutes, does that mean my heat index time on a 90 degree day should be 44 minutes.

Instead of doing Pikes (too late start), I did it for the first time on Sun, Oct 17.

My first lap time (very bottom to top) was 29:20, followed by 2 slower laps. Like everybody else, I hope to improve this, just coming back from surgery 10 days ago
